We enter from the carport on the left. You can see the front door but we don't use it. Also pictured are the stairs and downstairs half bath. This photo was taken from the kitchen.
With the plant and furniture arrangement, Sadie thinks it looks like a doctor's office waiting room. The photo is taken from the dining area. We had three ceiling fans installed and they make a world of difference.
It's pretty small house as you can see but it's working out fine.
While we've been here we've learned about the magic of putting chocloate chips in the batter!
Above the living room is vauted ceiling. This comes in very helpful when the girls have a very important announcement.
All the comforts of home.
We did cave in and buy a TV, though it is primarily to use for learning Spanish. Surprisingly though there as many English language channels (Disney, CNN, ESPN, HBO, ...) as there are Spanish channels.
Hannah has a nice view out her window, but it faces East. The dilema is it gets light about 4:30 AM but you need to keep the windows uncovered so you can stay cool. As of now she has the only ac unit in the house and will probably need it on during the night as it gets warmer.
Sadie's room looks out over the maid's quarters of the house next door. Not only is it an unattractive view, but you hear more than you want. At least the room doesn't face east.
This is out of place, but it shows the breezeway from the carport to the back yard. The entrance to the house is on the left and on the right is the maid's quarters, which we use a storeroom, and on down further is the room with the washer and dryer.
